Troubleshooting
  1. What do I need to play along with Enhanced Outback Jack on my PC or Mac?
    a) All you need is the Shockwave Plug-in. If you do not have Shockwave, it is available at Macromedia.com. Once you have this, simply click "play now," and you will be entered into the interactive program after a short initialization period.

  5. Can I play along with Enhanced Outback Jack if I am watching TV via satellite?
    a) Yes, you can play along with Enhanced Outback Jack if watching through satellite or cable. Please be aware that if you're watching via satellite, you will receive the broadcast at a slight delay from cable systems. The interactive application is synched to the cable broadcast, so you may experience a brief lag between the interactive content and the televised content.
  6. What does it mean if I get a Java Script error when starting up Enhanced Outback Jack?
    a) If you have not installed Shockwave, you may receive a Java Script error when trying to play along with Enhanced Outback Jack. While you can play along with Enhanced Outback Jack on the majority of operating systems and browser combinations, some systems may not be supported. All Windows platforms above 95 are supported (including XP and ME). Mac OS 8.5 and 9 are supported, and we're working towards support of OS X. All browsers are supported above IE 4.5, NS 4.5 and AOL 4.0.
    b) If you are using an ad blocking software you might need to disable it, as it could cause problems.
  7. I get a black screen after I enter the interactive game, and nothing comes up or I get a loading screen, but the game never starts!
    a) It sounds like there might be an issue with the interactive components. Please complete the following steps to uninstall and reinstall the interactive components to Shockwave.
    i) On a PC running Windows, find the game directory from your hard drive, located in your "Program Files" directory on your computer, titled GoldPocket (usually located at C:\Program Files\GoldPocket\ ) (If you cannot locate this folder, try searching for the directory "GoldPocket").
ii) Open the folder titled "GoldPocket." Run the uninstall.exe located in this directory, then delete the entire directory.
iii) Restart your computer, and test to see if Shockwave is still working correctly. You can check it by going to http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/welcome.
iv) If for some reason Shockwave doesn't work anymore, you'll have to uninstall, then reinstall it. You should use the uninstaller located here for PC or here for Mac. Reinstall it by visiting the entry page. Again, this is an optional step, only if the test page does not function correctly.
    v) Once that's running correctly, return to Enhanced Outback Jack and try to enter the game again.
  8. Whenever I try to load the game, after I click the "play now" button, the only thing I get is the customer.com home page! I never see the game window.
    a) It sounds as though you have ad blocking software running (programs designed to kill pop up windows when you're surfing the Internet). This type of software interferes with the game window appearing. Make sure you disable any such software before attempting to play the game.

Tips and Tricks
  1. Register
    a) You can participate in an interactive game without logging in. An anonymous "username" will be assigned to you, and then you'll go straight into the action!
    b) But: If you play as an anonymous user, you cannot keep your points or appear on the leaderboard. You also cannot join in chat.
    c) Once you register, you can choose your own username so that all of your friends know that it's you when your name is atop the "Leaderboard."
  2. Call Waiting
    a) If you are using a dial-up modem you might want to disable your call waiting and then turn it on after the interactive show is over. This way you won't lose your connection to the game when you are winning!
    i) Disable Call Waiting - Pick up the phone and push *70 to disable call waiting.
ii) Enable Call Waiting (after the show) - Pick up the phone and push *70 to enable call waiting.
  3. Top 10
    a) The Top 10 leaderboard you see features the top scorers from the entire interactive audience. Keep trying to up your points, and you might see your name up there in lights!
  4. Hide
    a) If you want to stay focused on the TV show and iTV application, just click HIDE and the scores and chat rooms will be hidden until you decide to view them again.
