Season 4: Episode 83: Looking Back Part 2
Vanessa joins the family in the living room and is surprised to see Elvin. After the kids question his story, he admits that he had a fight with Sondra. Cliff and Clair reassure him by pointing out that they have gotten into many arguments--often over silly things--but enjoy making up. Elvin is impressed that they are still so much in love after 23 years. Clair replies that the real challenge to the marriage comes from raising five children. They reminisce about some of the more amusing or difficult moments, such as Vanessa and Denise fighting over a sweater; Cliff hosting a slumber party for Rudy and her friends; Cliff caring for Rudy during an illness; and Theo's poor grades. Sondra arrives at the house and is confused to find Elvin seeking solace with her family. He explains that he did go to his parents' house, but they weren't home. Sondra and Elvin apologize for the argument and make up. Clair notes that the Huxtables always have long and happy marriages, and the family recalls performing for Russell and Anna at their anniversary party.
