Season 4: Episode 82: Looking Back Part 1
Sondra calls Clair in a panic after a fight with Elvin. She is worried because Elvin left to take a walk and has been gone for an hour. Clair assures her that all married couples argue, and that there is no real reason for concern. Elvin comes over to the house and admits that he is very upset. He mentions that Sondra claimed that Cliff and Clair once encouraged her to date someone else. Cliff and Clair own up to this, but point out that it was very early in the relationship and that Sondra seemed unhappy. They recall Elvin's chauvinistic ways and compliment him on how much he has changed. Cliff and Clair reminisce about Denise's weird boyfriends. Theo and Rudy come downstairs, and the family discusses many of the stranger and more amusing incidents they have experienced. They mention Theo's day in the "Real World Apartment Building"; the funeral for Rudy's goldfish; the time Theo tried to hide his pierced ear; and Denise's failed attempt to make a shirt for Theo. Elvin admits that hearing about the Huxtables' quirks and arguments makes him feel better.
