Season 3: Episode 52: Golden Anniversary
The Huxtables prepare a party for Russell and Anna's 50th wedding anniversary. Rudy declares that she will also be married fifty years, and that her husband's name will be Bud. Denise takes a bus to Princeton and rides back home with Sondra and Elvin. They drive her crazy by arguing the entire time, and continue to bicker after arriving at the Huxtable house. Elvin upsets all of the women with his sexist remarks. He turns to Cliff for advice, as he doesn't know how to act considerate without appearing to question Sondra's ability to take care of herself. Cliff suggests that he always offer to assist her, then step aside if she refuses his help. Sondra and Elvin promise not to fight during the party. After dinner, Cliff and the kids perform a lip-synch routine to James Brown's "I Got the Feeling." The family then takes Russell and Anna to a performance by the Count Basie Orchestra, where they lead the gathering in a dance.
