Season 2: Episode 32: Denise Drives
Denise gets her driver's license. She has saved $1600 to buy a car, and gets upset when Cliff insists on checking the car out first. She annoys Clair by proclaiming that she should be able to do whatever she wants with her money. Cliff and Clair remind her that there are many other expenses, such as gas and insurance, that she would not be able to afford on her own. Cliff and Denise take the car for a test drive, but discover that it would need extensive repairs to even get out on the road. Mr. Lucas, the Huxtables' handyman, announces that his aunt is selling her old car. The car is not only attractive, but is in excellent condition. Cliff arranges for Denise to buy it for just $850. Theo hopes that his parents will someday let him buy a motorcycle, but they refuse to consider this idea.
