Season 2: Episode 29: Theo and the Older Woman
Denise convinces the family to take part in a sociology project, in which she and her friend Suzanne observe the patterns of a large family. Theo is smitten with Suzanne. He dresses in nice clothes, studies on a Saturday, and continually makes insightful and sensitive comments in an effort to impress her. Denise is mortified, as she fears that Theo will begin dating Suzanne and hang around Denise and her friends all the time. Theo is heartbroken to discover that Suzanne already has a boyfriend. Cliff convinces him to take his mind off his troubles by going to the library. The experience does cheer Theo, but not in the way that Cliff intended. He meets a girl and brings her home for dinner.
