Season 1: Episode 3: Bad Dreams
Vanessa is upset when she is not allowed to see a new action movie with Clair and Theo. She has a long history of being unable to handle scary movies. She goes against her father's wishes and sees the movie anyway, thanks to a high school student who buys tickets to R-rated movies for younger kids. She experiences nightmares and insists on sleeping in her parents' bedroom for several nights. Clair finally coaxes her back to her room by giving her a "bravery medal" that has supposedly been handed down by several generations of women in their family. Cliff is less than pleased to discover that Clair actually gave away his track medal. Denise gets back at a date who ignores her by ordering the most expensive items on the menu.
