Out of Summer and into Fall

Expert Dannielle Romano was kind enough to provide us with three tips to help us look good even though summer's fading into fall:

1. Fall's colors are lovely, dark and deep. Foresty greens, dusty pinks and deep purples are shades to snatch this season. Envision an old English garden, a Russian forest at the turn of the 20th century or an Eastern embroidery for inspiration. More and more, designers are incorporating rich hues into traditionally neutral-toned bags and shoes, making accessories a smart way to update your color palette.

2. Hats are our friends. Many women fear hats, and we can understand why. In years past, they've been the domain of drama queens and crazy people. It's time to let them back into your life. Hats can be adorable or exotic, hip or old-fashioned, and can be the one thing that pulls together your whole look. Make a pledge to pick up at least one this year.

3. Single items make a big difference. Never, ever feel like you're supposed to buy a whole new wardrobe every season. Focus on one or two key pieces, like a fresh bag, a neat pair of shoes or a modern-colored coat to sprinkle into your existing look. You'll feel cutting edge, but not like you're wearing a costume.
