The Real Gilligan's Island is back for another season of challenges, changes, hook-ups and showdowns. As this new season begins, host
Scott Lasky is on the scene to remind us of the search around the country for goofy Gilligans, distinguished Millionaires, model-esque Gingers, knowledgeable Professors, scruffy Skippers and chipper Mary Anns. Just like in last season, none of the chosen castaways know they'll soon duke it out with their doubles to be the official cast of The Real Gilligan's Island.
First, we meet the Orange Team. The first castaway on this S.S. Minnow is
Gilligan Shawn who says, "I'm the new-age Gilligan--the one that does his own thing."
Skipper Ken follows suit, reminding us that he gives, not takes, orders. He even admits, "Sometimes I take my hat off and hit people with it." This may just be the spunkiest team yet! Soon, we're introduced to the independent
Mary Ann Randi, the "love doctor"
Professor Tiy-E and the
Millionaires Jim and Donna who have the hots for an actress fit to be queen. (
Ginger Angie admits, "I'm about to be stuck on an island with six perfect strangers and I think I'm gonna be in a living hell.")
Of course Team Orange has no idea what's on the other side of the island: its competition. The Green Team's
Gilligan Zac will give Gilligan Shawn a run for his money as he feels he is more like the real Gilligan. He admits, "I'm a hyper little guy, so since Gilligan was the Skipper's little buddy, it would be nice if I could find someone who can keep up with me." Gilligan Zac may get just the kind of Skipper he's looking for in
Skipper "Crazy" Charlie who says, "Everybody has to listen to me because I will be the boss!" Just as the two are getting to know each other, down the ramp of the other S.S. Minnow bounces
Mary Ann Mandy. "Personality-wise, I'm similar [to Mary Ann]--just a country girl, the girl next door who's always chipper, always happy."
Professor Andrew also thinks he's the best brain on the island as he states, "The original Professor was THE MAN, he was my hero. He was this good-looking guy and I totally fit the role. I'm the same kind of guy."
Millionaires Howie and Melissa know they aren't like the typical couple. They confess, "We have a slight age difference. But what's twenty-seven years?" The castaways better not ever call
Ginger Erika "Hollywood!" She exclaims, "I'm not a diva so if that's what people are expecting, they may be disappointed...or pleasantly surprised." Speaking of surprises, the Green Team has no idea of the surprises that await them on the island.
"When we walked into the camp it was really neat, because it was like walking back onto Gilligan's island," observes Team Orange's Mary Ann Randi as the group arrives on the island. "We had straw huts and things like that--pretty primitive." They are greeted by Host Scott Lasky who introduces them to their first surprise--exact duplicates of themselves. "I'm a little disappointed. I thought I was Ginger," says Ginger Erika as she meets her double, Ginger Angie from the Orange Team.
Once the fourteen are over the initial shock, Scott Lasky explains that each will face off in head-to-head competitions with their identical counterparts until seven remain. As the seven then compete with one another, the losers will continue to be banished to the other side of the island with no hope of rescue. The one remaining castaway will go home with $250,000. Gilligan Shawn admits, "I'm a con-artist. I will go to any lengths to win this money." He will get the chance to play hard during the first challenge for access to the shower for the duration of the show.
As the two teams try to get to know each other and their accomodations, tensions build. "For [Professor] Tiy-E to talk all the sex talk...it's not a comfortable place for me. I don't talk about sex. That's not the type of person I am," says Mary ann Randi. "I think the person that will drive me crazy the quickest is Mary Ann Randi. I don't think she has a clue of what's going on, being from kansas city," admits Gilligan Shawn.
Meanwhile, others start to bond. "Gilligan Zac and I went scavenger hunting, which was fun, because I feel like he's the boy version of me," giggles Mary Ann Mandi. "I don't know if Mary Ann Mandi is interested in me. Lord knows I'm working at that," says Gilligan Zac, echoing Mary Ann Mandy's sentiments.
While the two teams meet separately, they are interrupted by the radio, which tells them to meet at the beach for their first competition. The reward in this competition is access to the shower during their entire stay. Once at the beach, Host Scott Lasky explains the rules of the game, which involves swimming to get materials to start a fire then using that fire to burn a rope that keeps water from dropping onto the losing team. In the end, the Team Green castaways work together to get their fire big enough to drench the Orange Team.

Back at the camp, Team Green enjoys their group shower while Team Orange tries to get some sleep. "I'm hating every second of this. I'm way too much of a princess for this living," admits Ginger Angie.
The next morning, the Green Team continues to enjoy their victory. Mary Ann Mandy enjoys a shower with Professor Andy, while Gilligan Zac looks on, green with envy before he tries to get coconuts for Ginger Angie. All of a sudden, a bloodcurdling shriek sends the entire island running to Ginger Angie's rescue...as her hand drips blood from an accident with a knife. She is soon whisked away in a rescue helicopter while the other castaways worry about her and wonder about their next challenge.

They don't have to wait too long, as the radio crackles with instructions for them to meet at Voodoo Village to receive instructions for the first head-to-head competition. "I don't know about everyone else, but I felt we were just lambs being led to slaughter," admits Gilligan Zac. At the Voodoo Village, Host Scott Lasky tells the group how to be alerted to each one-on-one competition. He also tells the group about Ginger Angie, whose injury was so serious she was unable to meet at Voodoo Village that evening.
The next morning, as the Skippers gear up for the first head-to-head competition of the show, their castmates interact. Gilligan Zac goes in search of Mary Ann Mandy...only to find her cuddling in bed with Professor Andy. "Gilligan [Zac] has told me that he is into Mary Ann Mandy, but at the same time I have a flirtation with her," admits Professor Andy. "It isn't going to go anywhere, because I have a girlfriend at home." Meanwhile, Mary Ann Randi comes home to find ants in her bed and on her rations. She rants, "Instead of doing anything about it, everyone's like 'oh, look at the ants on Randi's bed, cool.' You could have moved them off the bed." Ginger Erika, sick of Mary Ann Randi's complaining, observes,"Randi is so unappreciative of everything. Everything sucks to her."
The Skippers stretch out until they hear the radio instructing them to gather their Minnow-mates for the head-to-head at the Lagoon. Host Scott Lasky meets them there and explains the competition: Each Skipper must keep his boat afloat as the other castaways exit and water comes in from holes that are unplugged. Both teams set off, and the castaways are asked to jump out one by one--until Professor Tiy-E nearly drowns. "I saw [Host] Scott jump over the cliff, and I saw Tiy-E under the water. I just jumped in after them to start paddling over to see if I could help Tiy-E," says Millionaire Howie.

During the chaos, Team Green pushes on, even though Gilligan Zac prematurely jumps out of his boat. "Zac, for some reason, decided to jump overboard and everyone is like, 'what the hell are you doing?' I think it goes back to the fact that the kid is an idiot," scoffs Gilligan Shawn. Despite everything, the Green Team is victorious, and Skipper "Crazy" Charlie gets to stay while Skipper Ken is banished.

Back at camp, while the Green Team celebrates its victory with new fishing equipment, the Orange Team's Mary Ann Randi and Professor Tiy-E go head-to-head about his inability to swim. "Honey, I don't want to call you out, but being such a strong member of our team it would have been very helpful if you said not only that you're not a strong swimmer but that you sink like a rock," challenges Mary Ann Randi. Professor Tiy-E comes back questioning Mary Ann Randi about her lifeguard skills, given that she didn't rescue him. Mary Ann Randi admits she's only been trained in shallow water. "I think Mary Ann Randi's lifesaving skills are good for a kiddie pool three feet deep and that's probably it," observes Millionaire Jim.
Both groups are interrupted by the sound of the radio, directing them down Coconut Path. They find a movie screen, popcorn and Orange Team's long-lost Ginger Angie. She delivers a message on-screen saying special goodbyes to Mary Ann Mandy and to Ginger Erika. After the show, Gilligan Zac makes a sun hat for Mary Ann Mandi while Skipper Charlie and Ginger Erika go to Voodoo Village to find out who will be up next for the head-to-head competition. "We never anticipated for a moment that one of us would banished to the other side of the island without the other," exclaims Millionaire Howie when the Mr. Millionaire doll was pulled from the box.
The next morning, tensions grow as Millionaire Howie admits that he was upset with Professor Tiy-E for jumping into the water without knowing how to swim. "I got so irritated that someone on this island doesn't know how to swim and I'm hurting for no reason," grumbles Millionaire Howie. "It's pathetic. Professor Tiy-E professes to be a man of truth, integrity and everything else but he's a slimeball--he's a nothing." Even after Professor Tiy-E responds that his spirit led him to jump and that things would be okay, Millionaire Howie is still not convinced, saying, "He's nuts, the guy is off the wall."
Millionaire Howie, Professor Tiy-E and the other castaways are interrupted by the voice on the radio sending them to the beach for the next head-to-head. Once there, Host Scott Lasky tells the group the competition is golf-based. The millionaires will be hitting avocado pits--gathered by the rest of the team--from sand traps to greens floating on the water. Both teams begin gobbling down avocados while the millionaires try to shoot the pits onto the greens. Team Orange is victorious, so Millionaire Howie kisses his fiancee, Miss Melissa, goodbye. The Green Team heads back to camp to enjoy a millionaire's night out complete with a plunge pool and a cooler filled with beer.

After the Orange Team taunts some of the Green, Mary Ann Mandi and Millionaire Jim head to Voodoo Village to find out who will be next on the chopping block. To the surprise of everyone, the Miss Millionaires are up to compete. "I have nothing to lose at this point," admits Millionaire Miss Melissa.
