1. What did you find most challenging about living on the island?
The first night I spent out on the island was extremely cold. I thought I
was really going to freeze to death. I am usually a really cold person,
body temperature wise. So that almost did me in.
2. Was there another castaway you just couldn't get along with?
At the time of the show, I would like to think that I got along with
everyone. However, as the show progressed, I just felt disappointed with a
castaway for the bad reputation that they were developing.
3. What was the wackiest moment on the island?
During the time I was on the island, I would say the drag show with
Professor Eric.
4. What would you have done with the money if you'd won?
I would have helped my parents with some of their financials. It would be
the least I could do for all the things they have done for me. Some of it
would have gotten invested and some of it would have went into attaining a
higher education for myself.
5. If you were really stranded on an island, without the support crew and the other castaways, what one item would you want to have with you?
A sharp knife would have been a good start.
6. How has the show impacted your life and career?
It helped me define my morals and I learned how strong mentally and physically I am. I am finishing college first, then I will see about that career.
7. What do you think was the fatal error that cost you the game?
My morals, because I was not willing to do what it would take to give high enough ratings to stay on the show.
8. Be honest, do you really like coconut cream pie?
I used too, but lately for some odd reason I do not like to eat a whole lot
of coconut. :)
9. Besides winning, what one thing on the island do you wish you'd gotten to do before you left?
Show the viewers that you can have good morals and stick to them, and still progress further in life than those wish to act otherwise.
10. Ginger or Mary Ann?
After I left the show I would definitely go with Ginger!
11. Which fellow castaway best matched their counterpart from the original series? Why?
I would have to say it would be a toss up between Gilligan
Gooner and myself. Him being goofy, and myself being a true real life
Kansas farmgirl.
12. What did you most enjoy about the experience of being on the show?
Having the opportunity to enjoy the fine company of many wonderfully diverse
individuals, a.k.a. my fellow castaways. I never would have been able to
experience the people, places, or things I have accomplished through The
Real Gilligan's Island if it had not been for TBS choosing me to represent
the Kansas farmgirl.
13. What one thing would you like viewers to know about you that they couldn't get just from watching the show?
My oldest brother who was leaving for Iraq and would be gone before I got done with the show, asked me before I left who I was? I told him that, "I am Amanda Dodson". Then he told me to remember that and do not forget it. Always be true to that person and you will succeed in life. That is why I conducted myself so respectfully on national TV, for my family and for my God.
14. What are you doing now that the show is over?
I am still working a part-time job, modeling a little on the side, and am a
full time college student working on attaining a Bachelors degree.
15. Which castaway (from either season) do you think will be the most fun to watch (keep track of?)?
Without a second thought, this one goes to Gilligan Gooner.
16. What type of personality or character has the best opportunity to win Season Two?
One of the Millionaires. They are working as a team.
17. What advice would you give your Season Two counterparts?
Stay true to who you are....money is not everything! Before anything else, be a good role
model, you never know who will be watching.
18. Who do you think would win in an island face-off, the Season One or Season Two castaways?
I am going to stay true to my crew, and go with Season One!!!!
19. What would you like to see more of in Season Two that didn't get shown enough in Season One?
I would like to see less romance and more comedy/adventure.
20. There is no question 20.
