· Include in your childrens book collection an assortment of visual books that show collections from different artists. What better way to encourage your child’s artistic side and interest them in reading?

· Either in a kid’s room or in a playroom, be sure to have a radio or CD player so your child can develop an appreciation for music as well. Music seems to be a very common source of inspiration in bringing out artistic talent.

· Encourage kids to write thank you notes for gifts or just to show random acts of appreciation. Instead of buying pre-printed thank you cards, scan their original school art and print custom thank you’s featuring their creation on the front. This is a great way for them to express originality outside the home.
