Ed Stevens is having a bad day. First, he loses his job as a lawyer at a high-profile New York City firm, thanks to a simple error in punctuation that costs the firm a fortune. Then, as if to add insult to injury, he finds out that his wife is having an affair...with a mailman. So what do you do when your life falls apart? Ed decides it's time to return to his roots. He heads back to the town of Stuckeyville, the small and simple place he spent the first half of his life trying to escape. Surprisingly, he finds the tiny town a comfortable fit. And he's stuck for good once he sets eyes on Carol, the girl he adored throughout high school. In a moment of emotional upheaval, Ed decides to buy the local bowling alley, move to Stuckeyville, and do whatever it takes to win Carol's heart. The longer he stays in Stuckeyville, however, the more he realizes that the old friends, familiar places and slower pace of the charming little town is just what he needed all along.
