After the
judges and the other guys voted
Ryan off last week, the remaining contestants realized
this competition is no joke--and drunken antics will not be forgiven. As this week's episode
opens, the guys begin to create strategies on how to avoid Ryan's fate.
Dan begins by trying to
speculate on how each of the guys voted, and he tries to form an alliance with
David,
Donnell
and
Albert. Albert is not interested and instead wants to work solo to vote out people who pose
a threat to him. He and David also observe that Dan is not the quiet, easy-going guy that he
portrays. Unbeknownst to the two of them, Dan is aware of their assumptions and prides himself
on being just that unsuspecting.
Speaking of misleading appearances, in a place where womanly niceties are the rule and
femininity reigns supreme, who would've thought that a pastel palace could become a
housekeeper's nightmare? The
He's A Lady producers sure didn't, as the guys were given a
chore board, complete with the ability to assign cleaning duties to each of the contestants.
Ignoring the chore board was probably not the best idea, as Dan claims, "It got to the point
where the house was so disgusting something had to be done." David also laments, "You walk in
the Dollhouse and see beautiful pastels, nice gowns and shoes, but there's a smell that lets you
know there are men here." Before they are greeted with the next challenge, all of the guys pitch
in and begin cleaning.
Cree complains, "Dressing like a lady sucks, but having to clean the
Dollhouse
really sucks."
When the doorbell rings and Victoria's Secret supermodel Frederique steps into the Dollhouse,
the group is relieved to welcome her into a spic-and-span space. When she enters, David, who
first comments, "Freda-who?" notices that his roommates are acting differently. ¿The other guys
are falling over themselves to impress her." He isn't too far off, as all of the contestants
begin following her through the house, excitedly pointing out sleeping quarters, dresses, shoes,
and even their fake breasts. "It was like watching adolescent boys try to gain the attention of
the pretty girl in class," says David. When she's able, Frederique finally lets the guys know of
their next challenge--the supermodel boot camp. Donnell speculates, "Either she's going to have
us work the runway and pose for pictures like true supermodels, or put us in lingerie. I hope we
won't be wearing lingerie cause the world isn't ready to see us in lingerie; the world will
never be ready to see us in lingerie." We'll see if he's right.
Made up and dressed to go out, the guys take a limo to meet Frederique for the next challenge.
"They already have us dressing like ladies, what can they do to us next,"
Michael wonders. The
six find out as the supermodel welcomes them into a studio. Here, they learn that they will each
don costumes suited to their personalities, and each will have thirty minutes to convincingly
demonstrate their professionalism and dynamic modeling ability. Dan is turned into an angel,
Donnell becomes a space-age woman, Cree tries to shine as a '50s housewife, Dan reinvents a
Marilyn Monroe character, Albert is made into Cleopatra, and Michael wears a mermaid's tail.
Once again, the guys seem intimidated by Michael and Albert's feminine features and their ease
in assuming a female role. Donnell says about each, "Michael looked too mermaid-ish. Darryl
Hannah had nothing on him. Pretty boy Albert dressed as Cleopatra and looked good, but after
Elizabeth Taylor does it, it's over." Despite the other guys' comments, Michael and Albert were
confident that they had the best chances of winning the challenge.
Confidence for Dan and David, however, went in different directions as Dan--who'd earlier
stated, ¿I look good and if you got it, flaunt it"--takes direction from Frederique and says, "I
don't feel graceful at all. I feel like a drunken sailor." Upon hearing about the challenge,
David says, "This second challenge is based on looks again. Here's another challenge where I
feel I'm unfairly handicapped." After getting inspiration from the twin models used in all of
the guys' shoots, and helpful direction from the photographer and Frederique, David says, "I
felt better about myself. I actually felt pretty." Cree and Donnell also feel comfortable in
front of the camera and Donnell admits, ¿Raven is a diva. She is not arrogant but is confident
in what she does." By the end of the photo shoot, Frederique is impressed with the work of all
of the guys saying, "The 'ladies' have done an incredible job. Each has such presence--it's
amazing."
Though Frederique enjoys the work of all of the guys, we know that only one will win.
Host
Tony Frassrand comes to the studio to deliver the news that each guy will be judged on his ability to
be convincing, dynamic and professional--as determined by Frederique--and the winner will be
safe from elimination and will receive a dude pass. The guys all stand next to framed photos of
their choosing while Frederique walks over to each, delivering positive feedback. She concludes
by saying, "They are all great shots. I think you did better than professional models." But
Tony reminds her she must choose just one winner. Cree is her selection and Donnell does not
take the news well. He says, "I have the ability to be very objective. And objectively, I
should have won." Tony remind's Cree of his "safe" status, but also reminds the guys that they
must soon vote off one of their own.
Back home, Dan rationalizes that Michael may be the one the judges let go if he is voted off and
put in front of them again. The guys also discuss how much competition Michael is because of his
stunning looks. Meanwhile, Donnell continues to lament about his loss and Cree chooses Michael
to accompany him on the dude pass to which Michael accepts. "I can't wait to get outta the house
and be a man's man--be me," he says. Michael's excitement is short-lived, however, as the next
morning Cree tells the guys that--at his and Michael's agreement--the actual person to go with
him on the dude pass will be David. Right away, Donnell, Dan and even David realize that Cree
and Michael are using strategy to win over a member of the group to become one of their "Three
D's." David and Cree set out for an afternoon of parasailing while the other five are left with
ladies from "Yoga Booty Ballet" for an afternoon of sexy, feminine, goddess-style
dancing.
"Yoga sucks," says Dan. Albert follows suit with, "Ohhhhmmmm...man this sucks. I wonder what
Cree and Dave are doing." The others continue to struggle through hip gyration, chanting,
meditation and trying to earn their "Goddess Powers." Donnell says, ¿All week, people come by
saying 'get in touch with your feminine side, your inner goddess.' I need dude stuff. Can I see
something blow up?" Meanwhile, Cree enjoys the great outdoors while David is strapped in and
ready to go--with the inability to actually go. Because of his size, he is unable to take off
until the wind picks up a little more. David is finally able to get off the ground before they
both have to return home and deal with elimination.
It's time for the seven men to give their thoughts on the looming elimination. Dan speculates,
"Mike and Albert will go down, not the "Three Ds." Donnell says he will vote off Michael saying,
"He is too pretty. [He] is starting to enjoy wearing dresses too much. [He] has to go." Michael
reminds himself that this is a game and no one will say what he means. David seems to need the
reminder as well as he admits, ¿The decision is made to vote off Michael and I have to say, I'm
a little unsure."
Each faces the judges--in a swimsuit! That's right, as host Tony introduces the judges and tells
them to look for supermodel Frederique's influence, each guy makes his solo entrance in a
one-piece swimsuit covered by a sarong. Cree admits, "I felt exploited and used. Thank God we
had to wear sarongs or else I wouldn't have been able to do it." Safe from elimination, Cree
didn't have to worry about his appearance in front of the judges. Michael and Dan weren't so
lucky, as they were the top two vote getters in the guys' elimination vote. In the end, Dan is
asked to remove his wig and say his goodbyes as a result of the final decision from the judges.
"The guys were ganging up on Michael," says
Morgan Fairchild. "I can't help but love him," says
Debbie Matenopoulos.
John
Salley counters, saying, ¿I¿m not in the house but he was voted to be
up for elimination twice, so it can't just be because he's pretty. Let me say it again,
None
of these guys are pretty." Michael, a.k.a. "Scarlett", has the best day of "her" life by
getting a third chance. But next week, tune in as the remaining six get a chance to be a part of
another lady's special day.
