Courteney Cox
CHARACTER BIO
Newlywed Jules Cobb is Gulfhaven's premier real estate agent and loving mother of one ... sometimes a little too loving. Often inappropriate in the way she shows her affection for Travis, Jules Cobb is struggling with letting him go away to college. Okay, it's true: Jules has no boundaries. But with her good friends, the always-brutally honest Ellie and towny-but-sweet Laurie, Jules usually sniffs out sanity. Besides, it's hard not to love the mom who always drops the world for her son and the neighbor who always tops off a glass of wine for her friends.
ACTOR BIO
Courteney Cox gained overnight fame as neurotic yet loveable Monica Gellar on the Emmy® Award-winning comedy "Friends." She teams with "Scrubs" creator Bill Lawrence on the TBS comedy "Cougar Town." They will serve as executive producers through their companies, Coquette and Doozer, respectively.
Cox starred in the feature film "Scream 4," the latest installment from Wes Craven's successful horror/comedy franchise. She was seen in Disney's family comedy "Bedtime Stories," opposite Adam Sandler. On television she created, starred, and produced in FX's "Dirt." In 2008 she made the natural segue from producing to directing on the drama "Monday Before Thanksgiving," for Glamour's Reel Moments Project, a series of three short films based on real women's stories written by Glamour readers. The project benefits a women's program for FilmAid International, an organization that uses the power of film to promote health, strengthen communities and enrich the lives of women around the world.
In 2004 Cox and husband David Arquette established their own production company, Coquette. Projects have included "Dirt," the interior design show for cable's WE (Women's Entertainment) Network entitled "Mix It Up," the comedy "Daisy Does America" for TBS, and "The Tripper," a horror film written and directed by Arquette.
Cox made her acting debut in 1984 on the daytime soap "As the World Turns," and later that year was cast by Brian de Palma for Bruce Springsteen's video, "Dancing in the Dark." She landed her first well known work as an actress in 1987 when she was cast as the bright, perky girlfriend of Michael J. Fox on "Family Ties." Following the series, she appeared in several feature films, including the box-office success "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective," opposite Jim Carrey.
Cox became a household name with the launch of the hit television series "Friends." The show garnered Screen Actors Guild Award nominations as Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series from 1999-2004. In 1996 Cox starred in Wes Craven's horror/comedy "Scream," which grossed over $100 million at the box office. She went on to reprise her role two additional times for the "Scream" trilogy. Additional film credits include "3000 Miles to Graceland," "Mr. Destiny," "Cocoon: The Return," "Zoom," "November," "The Longest Yard" and "Barnyard."
In addition to her work in front and behind the camera, Cox is also the face of the Avon Fragrance.
