Shannon Kaye
When Shannon launched her Decorative Painting and Color Consulting firm Shannon Kaye Finishing Touches in the 90’s she almost immediately contributed to the Pottery Barn Kids Catalog and found herself in local magazines and papers as the color expert and decorative painter to watch. Today Shannon hosts DIY Network’s Fresh Coat, a makeover show that uses only paint to completely transform a space with do-it-yourself homeowners. Her work on this inspirational show led her to become spokesperson and color and design expert for national companies such as Shur-Line painting tools, Certa Pro Painters, and Armstrong Ceilings.Recently, Shannon was commissioned to complete paintings for Carlos Santana’s new restaurant, Maria Maria located in the San Francisco Bay Area. She was also invited to paint for Benjamin Moore’s 2010 Colors For Your Home, which will be in stores nationally January in 2010. As a volunteer she also contributes her time and talent at Philanthropy by Design providing color consulting to non-profit groups such as Mandela Marketplace in Oakland, California where she selected colors and finishes for a new inner-city market called Mandela Foods Co-op which offers high quality foods and local farm produce at affordable prices.
Shannon has been featured on talk shows such as View on the Bay and in national magazines including Sunset Magazine, Family Circle, and Home Companion Magazine. She has made appearances on DIY Network’s Blog Cabin and a new soon to air series on HGTV titled Superscapes.
"What matters most to me is the impact that color and design have on our lives and our abilities to live well and achieve our goals. All I know is that if it involves paint, design, and color, I just want to be there!"
