Season 1: Episode 4: Valley of the Twenty-Something Guys
After bumping into each other on accident all over the city, Carrie and Big agree to meet up on purpose. "Saturday. 10:30. The hottest new restaurant in Manhattan." When she arrives, Carrie gets to meet Charlotte's new guy, a man with looks, manners and money. Miranda is also there, accompanied by Skipper, even though Charlotte questions the merits of dating a younger guy. Samantha--whose company is handling the opening of the restaurant--completes the foursome. And the evening begins.

Once inside the restaurant, Carrie calls her answering machine to check for any trace of the missing Mr. Big. When she hears his excuse for missing the event, she turns to Miranda for a second opinion on whether he's standing her up on a date, or just on a friendly meeting. "I have no idea," Miranda replies. "And I finished first in my litigation class."

Samantha introduces her new beau, Jon, the hottest chef in New York (and perhaps one of the youngest). Samantha also introduces Carrie to Jon's friend Sam, a tousled twentysomething with a playful attitude and cute smile. Carrie admires his rear while he fetches drinks. Just as she's admiring Sam's pierced tongue, Big drops by. Unfortunately, he's only stopping by to tell Carrie he can't stay. Dejected, Carrie heads off with Sam the Twentysomething.

The next day, Carrie reflects on a night of passionate kisses and wonders if she may be building an addiction to younger guys. Later, on the way to a "drink thing" with big, Carrie gathers the girls to give advice to Charlotte, whose boyfriend has made an unusually intimate request. Carrie could use some advice of her own, however. Her drink thing ends in frustration, as does a night in twentysomething Sam's apartment.

Apparently, he believes pizza boxes can be used as furniture.
