John Corbett starred most recently as Ian Miller in
My Big Fat Greek Wedding, opposite Nia Vardalos. The film, directed by Joel Zwick and produced by Rita Wilson, Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman, has earned its place in film history as the most successful and independent feature ever.
John is also known as the sexy Aidan Shaw playing opposite Sarah Jessica Parker in "Sex and the City," where he was nominated for a Golden Globe® award in 2002. John is currently working on the F/X series "Lucky." He plays Michael "Lucky" Linkletter, a one-time millionaire and championship poker player now struggling with bankruptcy and a gambling addiction. During the 2001 holiday season, John was seen in Miramax's
Serendipity, with John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale. John is also the voice of General Electric.
John will always be remembered as disk jockey Chris Stevens on the CBS series "Northern Exposure," where he received both Emmy® and Golden Globe® nominations. Over the last ten years, John has worked consistently in all mediums.
Born and raised in West Virginia, John moved out to California to find work in a steel factory. He worked there for six years until an injury forced him to stop. Concurrently, John was attending the local city college and decided to sit in on a friend's drama class. While watching class, he was invited on stage for an exercise and became captivated with craft. He acted in several college theater productions in which his drama teacher recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue Hollywood.
