You will need:
- 2 lbs. lean beef, chicken or lamb, fully cooked and chopped fine
- 4 cups cottage cheese
- 14 cups fully cooked brown rice, potato or rolled oats
- 7 cups assorted cooked vegetables, i.e. carrots, peas, broccoli, squash, sweet potato, green beans, blanched and chopped fine
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup flaxseed oil
- 5 tbsp. bone meal
- 3 tbsp. very finely chopped garlic
- 7 dog daily multi vitamins, ground fine
- 4 feet sausage casings
- 1 dog-eared copy "Dog Party" by Dr. Seuss
Directions:
- Combine all ingredients and mix well. (If not making dogs, skip steps 2-4 and serve as-is.)
- Transfer mixture to a piping bag fitted with a plain, wide tip
- Rinse the sausage casing in cold water and tie a knot in one end. Slide the open end of the sausage casing over the tip of the pastry bag, then slowly and carefully squeeze the mixture into the casing.
- Tie the open end closed with a piece of butchers twine. Begin creating links by twisting every 6-7 inches and tying into links with small pieces of kitchen twine.
- Refrigerate or freeze until use.
- If anyone mentions the mess in the kitchen, roll over and play dead.
Makes 7 days of feedings for a 25-30 lbs. dog
