Bill Engvall, a Galveston , Texas , native, began his career as a disc jockey and decided to try his hand at stand-up comedy. After quickly discovering he had a talent for it, he made the leap to television and landed roles on such hit series as Designing Women, Delta and The Jeff Foxworthy Show .

In addition to hosting CMT's Country Fried Home Videos , Engvall has starred in such hit shows as the sketch comedy series Blue Collar TV and the television special Mobile Home Disasters , a makeover show for mobile homes. On the big screen, he has co-starred in Blue Collar Comedy Tour: The Movie and its sequels, Blue Collar Comedy Tour Rides Again and Blue Collar Comedy Tour: One For The Road . This spring, he'll also be starring in Delta Farce , a comedy about three blue collar heroes on the military's front line.

Engvall is a multi-platinum recording artist and Grammy nominee. His enormously successful comedy albums, many of which hit #1 on the Billboard comedy charts, include Here's Your Sign, Dorkfish, Here's Your Christmas Album and Now That's Aweso me. His most recent comedy album 15° Off Cool , debuted at #1 on Billboard's Comedy Charts in March 2007. He is also releasing a book in May 2007 entitled Just a Guy: Notes from a Blue Collar Life .

Engvall currently resides in Southern California with his wife and two children.
