China Anne McClain was kind enough to sit down with us and talk about Tyler Perry's new hit family comedy House of Payne.

Q: How did you get involved in HOUSE OF PAYNE?
A: My first professional acting job was in the movie The Gospel. I found out that I could act and really loved the experience, so I tried out for HOUSE OF PAYNE and got the job.

Q: Describe your character, Jazmine Payne?
A: My character Jazmine is very sassy. She is a know-it-all who occasionally comes off a little rough. But at her core, she is a sweet girl.

Q: How do you like working with the rest of the cast?
A: It has been an amazing experience working and learning from the cast. Auntie Ella is a very sweet, kind lady, and she wants to be around you all the time. She is crazy about her niece and nephew. Uncle Curtis is sometimes really mean, but he can be kind of nice if you get to know him. Janine, my mom, has an addiction problem, and she’s not at home a lot so we have to stay with our dad. CJ, my dad, is a very caring person and loves his kids. He would not want to give them up for something else. Malik, my brother, loves me, and I love him too. Sometimes we fight though.

Q: What is it like working with Tyler Perry?
A: Working with Tyler Perry is a blessing.

Q: What makes you laugh?
A: What makes me laugh are the jokes that Tyler Perry tells on the set. He is hilarious and cracks me up.

Q: What do you want the viewers to know about this show?
A: I want people to know that this show is exciting, interesting and refreshing to watch on television. It’s something different.
