TBS is proud to offer online access to the funniest comedies on television, free of charge, through both a live stream of our network and on-demand viewing of previously aired episodes. However, this access requires you to log in via your television provider. We understand that this concept is fairly new and this process can be confusing. We hope the Frequently Asked Questions that we've answered below will help clarify the most common issues our fans have encountered. We'll make updates to this section as new features are added--or as new questions are brought to our attention.

Logging In:

Why am I being asked to log in?
Through an arrangement with participating television service providers, we're making live streams of the network and full episodes of some of your favorite TBS shows available for online and mobile consumption. These services are only for subscribers of these providers, so we need you to verify your subscription by logging in with the username and password provided by your television provider.

What do I get for logging in?
By logging in, you'll unlock live east and west streams of the TBS television network and next-day availability of many TBS series, along with access to our entire library of full episodes.

How do I login?
Use the User Name and Password associated with your TV Service Provider account. If you don't know your User Name and Password or don't have one, or have trouble with the login, contact your TV Service Provider.

Who is my TV Service Provider?
The cable, satellite or telecommunications company that you pay a monthly subscription fee to in order to receive our television network. Examples are Comcast, DirecTV, and AT&T.

What if I can't find my TV Service Provider in the login list?
Access to this service is only available to customers of participating TV Service Providers who also subscribe to our television network. Please check back soon to see if your TV Service Provider has been added.

What if my TV Service Provider and Internet provider aren't the same? Which do I use to login?
Use your TV Service Provider Login (User Name and Password) to access this service.

What if I don't have a TV Service Provider?
Access to this service is only available to customers of participating TV Service Providers who also subscribe to our television network.

Is my login secure?
Your TV Service Provider Login is secured by your TV Service Provider. You will be redirected to your TV Service Provider's login page to verify your account. Your TV Service Provider's privacy policy covers your login and all interactions with your TV Service Provider. Turner Entertainment Networks does not collect and have no access to your TV Service Provider account information.

What if I forgot my username and/or password?
If you forgot any of your login information, please contact your television provider. Again, TBS has no access to your personal info and cannot retrieve lost information.

Will I have to login each time I watch Live Turner Entertainment Programming?
No, you will not have to log in each time you watch Live Web Simulcast of any Turner Entertainment Programming. Once you are successfully verified to watch the live streams of TBS and tbs programming, your login should be valid for a few weeks. If for some reason your verification lapses, you may need to log in again.

Live Simulcast:

How do I watch Live Simulcast?
Choose your TV Service Provider and then login with your TV Service Provider User Name and Password to access the available content.

Do I have to pay to watch the Live Web Simulcast of the television network?
Access to the Live Web Simulcast of our television network is available as part of your paid TV Service Provider package that includes a subscription to our television network. There is no other payment required.

Can I watch outside the US?
Access to the service is only available to subscribers to our television network that are located in the District of Columbia, the fifty United States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Will the content available through TBS and TBS's live streams be identical to the content on the linear networks?
Yes, with minimal blackouts as applicable.

Why are there two live streams?
TBS currently broadcasts two separate feeds of our network--an eastern feed and a western feed. With our live streaming service, you can choose either feed to watch live, giving you more options no matter when you go online to watch.

Will the streams feature closed captioning?
Yes, closed captioning will be available online and through the apps.

Does this site have Parental Controls?
No, we do not offer Parental Controls at this time.

On-Demand Full Episodes:

When are new episodes available on-demand?
Most TBS series will be available to registered users the morning after they air on television.

How much does it cost to watch on-demand full episodes?
This service is free as part of your television subscription and is available through participating television providers.

Can I watch outside the US?
Access to the service is only available to subscribers to our television network that are located in the District of Columbia, the fifty United States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Can I purchase these shows on a pay-per-view basis?
These shows are not available on a pay-per-view basis through this service. However, as a subscriber of a participating television provider, you'll have access to many full episodes whenever you log on to your computer, at no additional cost.

Why can't I find my favorite show listed in your collection of full episodes?
Some shows that have aired on our networks are not currently available on this service. However, we frequently update our programming so the show you're looking for may be available at some point in the future.

Will the episodes feature closed captioning?
Yes, closed captioning will be available online and through the apps.

Does this site have Parental Controls?
No, we do not offer Parental Controls at this time.

Technical Requirements:

What devices can I use?
You can use Android Mobile and Tablet, iPhone, iPad, & Broadband Web on your computer. Each device requires that you login with your TV Service Provider. Please check your TV Service Provider's instructions to manage how many devices can be active at one time and how many streams of content can be simultaneous at one time.

What are the recommended system requirements for broadband web viewing?
Watching the Live Web Simulcast of TBS and tbs on their broadband websites requires the following minimum system requirements:
  • An Adobe Flash Player with version 10.1 or higher (To see if you have the latest version go to www.adobe.com)
  • An Internet connection of 3.0Mbps or greater within the US
  • For Windows: An Intel Pentium 4 3GHz processor (or equivalent) with 128MB RAM/64MB of VRAM.
  • For Mac: An Intel Core Duo 1.83GHz or faster processor, 256MB of RAM/64MB of VRAM
Which browsers can I use for web?
You can access this service using the following browsers: For Windows: Internet Explorer 7 or greater, Google Chrome 12 or higher, or Mozilla Firefox 4 or greater.
For Mac: Safari 4 or greater or Mozilla Firefox 3 or greater.

Do I need to disable my antivirus software, any firewalls, or popup blockers to use this service?
No, you do not need to disable your antivirus software. If you have installed a firewall at home, simply accept the request from your firewall asking if it is OK to access this service. To make this service an exception to your computer's firewall, go to your Internet provider's Help section and follow the instructions. For firewalls at work, contact your company's Information Technology department. You will not need to disable any popup blockers to watch video on Turner's sites.

Do I need to be connected to the Internet?
Yes, to watch the Live Web Simulcast on TBS and tbs websites, you need to be connected to the Internet using a high-speed Internet service.

Mobile Access:

How can I access this service on my Smartphone and Tablet?
You can access this service by downloading the Watch TBS and Watch TBS mobile applications from the App Store or Google Play.

Can I use the Watch TBS and tbs apps offline?
No, a network connection is required.

What type of mobile connection do I need?
For best results, use a strong wi-fi connection. A slow Internet connection affects the video quality and overall performance.

You may use a Wi-Fi connection or a cellular 3G/4G mobile connection. Data charges may apply in accordance with your data plan.

What if I have a strong 3G/4G connection, but the stream is slow?
You may be experiencing data throttling, where your wireless service provider slows down the rate in which data can be pushed to your smartphone or tablet. This can impact the quality of your video stream. Please alert your provider.

What mobile devices can I use for this service?

How long does it take to access a show?
Once you make a selection you should be watching in moments. The exact time depends on your connection speed.

What do I do if I'm having trouble getting the video to play on my computer?
If you're having trouble watching Live Web Simulcast on your computer, please verify that you have the most recent version of the Adobe Flash Player installed. If not, go to www.adobe.com and install the latest version of the player.

What if I'm having trouble getting the video to play on my mobile device?
If you're having trouble watching Live Web Simulcast on your mobile device, please verify the strength of your mobile data connection or try connecting directly to the Internet via wifi.

When I try to watch, the video keeps skipping. Why is this happening?
If Live Web Simulcast video content is skipping while playing, make sure the speed of your Internet connection is at least 3Mbps. Activities such as downloading, browsing, etc. in the background can disrupt live video. To get the most optimal experience, be sure to check that the web browser loading this site is the only application running. In addition, slower systems may have problems playing video back optimally. Check the minimum system specs to be certain your computer is fast enough for this service.

When I try to watch, the volume is too low. How do I fix this problem?
If you are having trouble with the volume on a video, try the following steps:
  • Check the volume control in the video player to verify that it's not on the lowest setting.
  • Make sure your computer/mobile device's volume is not muted or too low.
  • Verify you have the most recent version of the Adobe Flash Player installed on your computer. If not, go to www.adobe.com to install the latest version of the player. If on a mobile device, check the minimum mobile system specs to be certain your mobile device supports this service.
  • Check the audio/headphone cables on your computer or mobile device and make sure they are connected.

How do I enable closed captioning on my computer?
To use closed captions on this site, simply mouse over the video while it is playing. You will see a button labeled "CC." Click the "CC" button to turn closed captions on, and click the "CC" button again to turn closed captions off.

Why aren't there captions in a program I accessed through this site or application?
Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. is actively working to expand closed captioning of its online video programming, including full compliance with all relevant FCC implementation timelines. More information about the FCC's online closed captioning requirements and timelines can be found here. Please note that certain software and equipment may not support closed captions at this time. Turner continues to work with its technology and distribution partners to enable this support wherever possible.
